Sensational Soave Master Class Series Returns to US Market
2015 Seminar Series Begins with April Tastings in Houston and Los Angeles
NEW YORK, April 22, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Italy's Soave Consortium is pleased to announce its educational initiative, the Sensational Soave Master Class series, is back for its second year. Led once again by Master Sommelier Evan Goldstein, the series kicks off with tastings in Houston and Los Angeles on April 22 and April 23, respectively. The Soave Consortium's objective is to increase awareness of the region, which was one of the first wine-producing regions in Italy to achieve DOC status.
"It's impressive that as far back as 1931, those with authority had the foresight to recognize Soave Classico's hillside vineyards, the source of many unique Crus," says Giovanni Ponchia of Soave Consortium. "Soave is paramount to Italy's quality wine market as it was among the first two regions to be geographically defined."
Each year, Soave wines are placed on Gambero Rosso's "Tre Biccheri" list of top Italian wines. Nielsen data from 2014 shows Soave as one of the fastest growing categories in the US market.
"We're thrilled to take part in this series for the second year, and to share Soave's rich tapestry of wines with members of the media and trade," says Evan Goldstein, Master Sommelier. "It's important to continue to spread the knowledge of Soave, as it continues to gain momentum in the US wine market."
The two master classes will allow industry members in each city the opportunity to discuss and taste a plethora of Soave wines from top producers, featuring new and aged bottlings of Soave Classico, Soave DOC and Soave Spumante.
