Sept. 23 Panel: Government, Private Industry Find Similarity in Security Threats

WASHINGTON, Sept. 17 /PRNewswire/ -- What can corporate America and government agencies tasked with protecting the nation learn from each other?  At the invitation-only American Security Challenge (ASC), a gathering of government and corporate leaders, entrepreneurs and investors focused on national security, attendees will have a window into the similarities of threats to government and corporate interests as well as the array of threat-mitigating technology solutions currently deployed or ready for commercialization.

ASC increases the visibility of companies with innovative technology and aids the commercialization process so that technology reaches either the public or commercial marketplace faster.  Through ASC, companies selected last year received $10 million in investor term sheets and contractor teaming agreements making it the most successful program like it in the country.

This year ASC will feature presentations from cyber security and energy technology companies selected for their innovation and investment or deployment potential.  Other highlights include remarks from former U.S. Dept. Homeland Security Secretary Tom Ridge, a ceremony to honor General Keith Alexander of the National Security Agency (NSA) and U.S. Cyber Command with the 2010 Patriot Award, and a panel discussion with security VIPs outlined below.
