Serket Racing Continues The 2015 IMSA Season With A Mission At Watkins Glen
WATKINS GLEN WILL BE ONE OF THE BIGGEST WEEKENDS FOR RACING AND CHANGING THE LIVES OF OUR U.S. VETERANS
WATKINS GLEN, N.Y., June 24, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Serket Racing is back leading the charge in the Porsche GT3 Cup Challenge by Yokohama, 2015 IMSA series after a two-month break. Heading for Watkins Glen International, Serket Racing will make moves on and off the track this weekend to benefit veterans nationwide.
Serket Racing joins forces with Boot Campaign, Mike's Hard Lemonade and Kaplan University to hold the Faces of our Freedom and Veteran Appreciation Day at the Watkins Glen International Track. Serket Racing will have the pleasure of hosting 5 noble veterans from different branches of service for a weekend in their honor. The events will celebrate these veterans for their selfless dedication and also raise awareness of the sacrifices our troops make to protect our country. The Watkins Glen International track will be buzzing all weekend from the races and the veteran appreciation events. The 5 veterans in attendance will serve as Grand Marshals and Honorary Starters for the races this weekend. Watkins Glen PR Manager, Chris Banker said, "Watkins Glen International is proud to partner with Serket Racing concerning the critical mission of supporting our Veterans, and through our Military Appreciation Day on June 28th, we are excited to continue our initiative of offering support & drawing awareness to those who serve our country, and their families at home."
On the track, Serket driver Mark Llano will race in the new MultiCam designed Alpine white wrapped Serket Racing Porsche. Llano, currently stands 3rd in the Porsche GT3 Cup Challenge by Yokohama in the Gold division and is on a mission to take this race to the next level. Llano said, "This is going to be a huge weekend for Serket Racing. We've been working to take home the win and further promote our mission to change the lives of veterans. Every race is a mission and we will be one step closer after this."
Following this weekend at Watkins Glen International, the IMSA series will continue with a race at Canadian Tire Motorsport Park in July followed by another big month in August with races at Road America and Virginia International Raceway.
