Consumers can discover check-in opportunities within the hundreds of apps that use the company's loyalty program. SessionM promotes targeted opportunities to consumers and when they successfully check-in to a location, they are rewarded with mPOINTS in addition to exclusive offers or rewards from participating brands and retailers. Specific check-in opportunities can be targeted based on consumer profiles, geo-location, or time of day.

In addition to driving people to brand and retail locations, mPLACES allows brands to seize the opportunity in real-time, engaging with the consumer beyond just a check-in to also include video ads, coupons, sweepstakes or other offerings. Consumers see an alert within any SessionM-enabled app to check-in to a nearby location. Once the consumer's location is verified they earn mPOINTS for checking in and are immediately presented with the opportunity to watch a brand video, redeem a coupon or entering a sweepstakes while in the store, all to keep the brand top-of-mind throughout their shopping experience.
During the mPLACES soft launch in November, on one given day mobile users checked-in every 1.5 seconds across major retailers such as Target and BestBuy. Of these mPLACES users, 70% shared they made a purchase at the retailer at which they checked-in and 1 in 3 visited the store because of mPLACES prompted them to.
