The investigation concerns whether ChromaDex and certain of its officers and/or directors have violated Sections 10(b) and 20(a) of the Securities Exchange Act of 1934.
On June 20, 2016, Bleecker Street Research published a report on ChromaDex asserting, among other things, that ChromaDex shareholder Barry Honig had used a network of puppet directors and officers to secretly control the Company. Bleecker Street Research also alleged that ChromaDex's profitability for the first quarter of 2016 is "likely fake" and "appears to be engineered."
On this news, ChromaDex's share price fell by $2.14, or nearly 43%, to close at $2.84 on June 20, 2016.
