LOS ANGELES, Aug. 5, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Sharp Entertainment, the Manhattan-based production company known for television hits like MAN V. FOOD, 90 DAY FIANCÉ, DOOMSDAY PREPPERS, and EXTREME COUPONING announced today that it will collaborate with world-renowned rugby coach, Sir Clive Woodward in creating FOOTBALL V RUGBY. The ambition for this first of its kind sports crossover event is to develop a docu-series and stage a live broadcast of former NFL stars taking on rugby players in a super-sized match of Rugby Sevens.
Part athletic contest and part social experiment, FOOTBALL V RUGBY will follow a team made of NFL stars as they train with Woodward in the sport of Rugby prior to taking on a Rugby team on the global stage. This fish-out-of-water journey will put some of America's greatest athletes to the test as they prepare for the match of a lifetime.

Rugby is one of the biggest sports in the world, boasting 100 million fans globally and is the fastest-growing sport in North America. A former rugby union player, Woodward was coach of the England team from 1997 to 2004, which he led to victory in the 2003 Rugby World Cup. Having also worked as Team GB's Director of Sport for the London 2012 Games, Woodward will now return to the Olympics in Rio de Janeiro for the BBC, where Rugby will make its return to the Olympics after being absent for 90 years.
