Shell Expands Popular WINsday Promotion For 2013 Race Season Program to provide additional savings to Fuel Rewards Network™ Cardholders when new driver Joey Logano wins
HOUSTON, Feb. 20, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- It's a good year for "22." Shell, the no. 1 selling gasoline brand in the U.S., is bringing back its popular WINsday promotion for the third consecutive year to save Shell $aver Cardholders money on their fuel purchases. Every time 22-year-old Joey Logano, driver of the No. 22 Shell-Pennzoil Ford Fusion, wins a points race during the 2013 season, current Shell Saver Cardholders can receive a savings of 22 cents per gallon when they purchase high quality Shell Nitrogen Enriched Gasolines or Shell Diesel on the Wednesday – or WINsday - following the win using their Shell Saver Card®.* The season kicks off Feb. 24 in Daytona and races run through Nov. 17, so Shell Saver Cardholders will have 36 opportunities to save more than usual on their fuel purchases at Shell.**
"Driving the No. 22 Shell-Pennzoil Ford is a dream come true, and the opportunity to help people save on fuel when I win is a great bonus!" said Joey Logano. "Each week, I'll do whatever I can to drive into victory lane and help Shell Saver Cardholders save at the pump, a win-win for everyone!"
"At Shell, we're committed to offering programs like WINsday to help our customers save without having to sacrifice the quality of their fuel," said Susan Day, US Payment Implementer Coordinator, Shell Oil Products U.S. "We're thrilled to welcome Joey to the team and look forward to cheering him on this season, especially knowing our customers can save every time he wins."
The WINsday promotion has also expanded this year to provide additional savings to Shell Saver Cardholders who are also registered Members of the Fuel Rewards Network™ (FRN™) program. Shell Saver Cardholders who use their Shell Saver Card on WINsday will receive an email with a FRN™ Rewards Code and activation instructions. Once their FRN Rewards Code has been activated, the additional cents per gallon savings will be added to their FRN Account and can be redeemed on a future purchase of high quality fuels at a participating Shell branded station***. Shell Saver Cardholders who are not already registered FRN Members can sign up at www.fuelrewards.com/winsday.
Shell Saver Cardholders can expect a few more new program surprises and special offerings to be announced later this year, so it's not too late to sign up and get in on the savings! As always, the savings on the Shell Saver Card will be reflected on the cardholder's statement. ****
*If a points race is delayed and ends later than a Monday, the savings is available two days after the win. (For example, if Joey wins a race on Tuesday, the 22 cent per gallon savings will occur on Thursday.)
**Two non-points races will be run during the season: Feb. 16 and May 18, during which the WINsdays promotion will not apply. The promotion will also not apply to the Feb. 21 duels
*** Fuel savings issued to your FRN™ Account can be redeemed with your Fuel Rewards Network™ Card and are limited to 20 gallons of fuel per purchase per vehicle. FRN™ Rewards Codes must be activated by December 31, 2013. Fuel Rewards® savings earned through that FRN™ Rewards Code expire on the last day of the month, two months after the month in which that FRN™ Rewards Code is activated.
**** Fuels savings are limited to 25 gallons per purchase per vehicle, or limits placed by Shell and/or limits placed on your payment card by your financial institution, each of which may be lower.
About the Shell Saver Card
The Shell Saver Card is a non-credit payment product exclusive to Shell that links directly to cardholders' checking accounts and offering savings at the pump. While Shell Saver Card earnings apply only to gasoline and diesel purchases, the card can be used for any purchases at Shell-branded stations except lottery tickets, and also includes an everyday discount of 2 cents per gallon off all fuel purchases when used. Through Telecheck® and the use of personal PIN numbers, the Shell Saver Card offers safety mechanisms that enhance consumer security. Since the Shell Saver Card directly links to a checking account, applying for the card does not affect consumer credit scores, nor are there any application or annual fees.
The Shell Saver Card makes organizing family budgets easier by using one card that lists all Shell fuel purchases and offers cardholders earnings every time it is used, allowing consumers to get the most out of every drop of Shell Nitrogen Enriched Gasolines.
From gasoline cards to credit cards, the Shell Family of Cards addresses the diverse financial needs of today's consumers with a range of payment options. For more information about the Shell Saver Card and the Shell Family of Cards, visit www.shell.us/cards.
