Shopko Holds Drawing; Teammate Wins $10,000 for Great Customer Service

GREEN BAY, Wis., Jan. 14, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Shopko is proud to announce that it has selected a winner of its "You're #1" contest which is part of the company's teammate recognition program. Thousands of Shopko teammates who had been recognized for outstanding customer service during the previous year were eligible to win the grand prize of $10,000.

On January 4, Ariel Craft was randomly selected as the lucky winner. She was recognized for providing exceptional customer service at the Shopko store in Duluth, MN. Craft's name was submitted for the drawing by customer service manager, Gwyndelyn Bell, after a customer provided feedback about the assistance that Craft provided to her while shopping at the Duluth store.

Craft, a full-time college student who has worked at the Duluth Shopko store since 2008, was notified on January 6 that she was the winner of the grand prize. "I was astonished!" she said of hearing the announcement by her store manager. "I'm working my way through school and will graduate in May so it is a great relief to receive this award."

Shopko will run the contest again this year and will draw another $10,000 winner in January, 2014.
