MERRILLVILLE, Ind., June 6, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- An industry veteran with more than 15 years of experience, Keith Shopnick is the newest member of the White Lodging Team. Shopnick was recently named General Manager at the Westin at the Domain in Austin, Texas. In response to the announcement, John Randall, Regional Vice President at White Lodging said, "I am thrilled to have Keith join our company and take the reins at one of our leading hotels." Opened in 2010, the Westin has 341 guest rooms and is situated in The Domain – a high-end retail, dining and entertainment destination in northwest Austin.

Shopnick began his career after his graduation from Michigan State University where he earned a bachelor's degree from The School of Hospitality Business. Joining the Cincinnati-based hotel management firm of Winegardner & Hammons, Inc, Shopnick's first position was as a General Manager in Training at the Radisson Hotel in Lansing, Michigan.

During the next nine years Shopnick worked at Winegardner & Hammons managed properties in Michigan, Florida, Texas, Connecticut, Pennsylvania and Ohio where he learned the responsibilities and duties required of a general manager. In 2004, he was named General Manager/Director of Sales and Marketing at the Holiday Inn in Fairborn, Ohio. Most recently, Shopnick was the General Manager/Director of Sales & Marketing at 295-room Cleveland Marriott East. While at this property, he was responsible for overseeing a budget of $11.6 million.
