SUNNYVALE, Calif., May 22, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Shorai Inc., a global leader in the design, development and manufacture of prismatic cell, lithium iron phosphate power sports batteries, has announced a new addition to its executive team, naming James McCormick as the company's new President and CEO. McCormick comes to Shorai with more than 25 years of financial and executive level leadership experience. His role with Shorai will focus on scaling the company on a global level by increasing Shorai's international presence with key distribution channels, as well as expanding its domestic distribution network. In his most recent position, McCormick helped with the consolidation of Crossing Automation and Asyst Technologies and in as little as 15 months, he took the consolidated companies from $0 to $100 million in revenue. Since its inception in 2010, Shorai's growth continues to increase year over year and with McCormick's proven experience as a chief financial strategist overseeing both operations and sales, his new role will guide and direct Shorai's quickly growing global distributor network.
"We have had tremendous financial success since we launched the company in 2010. Our sales continue to climb and we felt the need to bring in a leader that has a proven track record for taking companies to the next level," said Kevin Riley, Co-Founder and Executive Vice President of Sales and Marketing for Shorai. "We believe James' strengths in both short and long term financial planning will help us build our international business model, thus signing more key distributors and partners."
"Before accepting this new role with Shorai, I was looking to identify a company that was already making significant strides within their industry and Shorai has definitely done that with their revolutionary LFX batteries," said James McCormick, President and CEO of Shorai. "I look forward to helping build Shorai's market presence and global availability in the coming months."
As the newest member on the Shorai executive team, McCormick brings decades of strategic business knowledge and financial acumen, allowing him to be a key contributor to all aspects of Shorai's business. Launched in 2010, Shorai has quickly taken control of the lithium power sports battery market and McCormick's corporate development experience will facilitate this continued corporate growth.
