Sidoti & Company, LLC Makes Strides In Investment Banking, Levels Sights On Micro-Cap Market

NEW YORK, April 26 /PRNewswire/ -- Sidoti & Company, LLC has announced another successful equity transaction with an independent banking boutique.  On April 20, 2010, Sidoti served as sub-placement agent in a registered direct placement of 4.0 million shares of common stock by Monmouth Real Estate Investment Corporation (MREIC).  CSCA Capital Advisors, LLC served as placement agent.  The transaction closed April 23, 2010.  In October 2009, CSCA and Sidoti played similar roles in the registered direct placement of approximately 1.7 million common shares for MREIC, a specialist in net-leased industrial properties.  MREIC, whose common shares are traded on the NASDAQ Global Select Market under the symbol MNRTA, plans to use the proceeds of this latest placement to purchase additional properties.

Apart from assisting MREIC, Sidoti is vigorously active on several fronts:

First, the firm continues to leverage its institutional network, working with investment banks and assisting them to raise capital for their clients.  Not only does Sidoti's reputation for value-added products allow it to develop deeper relationships than many of its rivals, but the firm also boasts the Street's largest sales team focused solely on selling small- and micro-cap names to institutional investors.  In the case of the October 2009 registered direct placement of shares for MREIC, a relatively small and less actively traded REIT, Sidoti used its extensive relationships in the financial community to identify and generate interest among small-cap investors.

Moreover, Sidoti - already a frontrunner in small-caps, with 60 analysts covering approximately 600 names - is executing on its plan to dominate the sub-$200 million micro-cap market.  The January 2010 inaugural micro-cap conference in midtown Manhattan was so well received by investors and presenters alike that, the firm, a long-time leader in the small- and micro-cap equities market, pushed the date of the next conference up by six months.  The Second Semiannual Micro-Cap Conference is now slated for June 25 in Midtown Manhattan.  Sidoti & Company, LLC plans to unveil research coverage of this group soon, starting with 30 companies.

"We understand the difficulty in dealing with those in the Wall Street community who think bigger is better," said Mr. Sidoti, the firm's CEO, in regard to the firm's many initiatives.  "Most important, we have significant familiarity with areas that are as complex as they are compelling."  Look for Sidoti & Co., LLC to continue to blaze new trails in its second decade as a preeminent Wall Street name.
