BEAUMONT, Texas, Dec. 9, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Sinclair Broadcast Group, Inc. (Nasdaq: SBGI) announced that Rix Garey has been named General Manager of KFDM-TV (CBS 6 and the CW of Southeast Texas) in Beaumont, Texas.  Mr. Garey will be responsible for oversight of the station, which is programmed by Sinclair under a time brokerage agreement.  The announcement was made by Steve Marks, Chief Operating Officer of Sinclair's television group.

In making the announcement, Mr. Marks said, "We are pleased to promote Rix to the position of General Manager.  As someone who has spent his career at KFDM, he understands the needs of the community and the role KFDM plays in it.  We look forward to Rix building on that relationship."

Mr. Garey joined KFDM in 1980 and most recently served as General Sales Manager.  During his tenure at the station he has held various sales positions including Local Sales Manager and Director of Retail Development.  Mr. Garey holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration with a major in Marketing from the University of Tennessee.
