Sloane & Sons to Partner with End Youth Homelessness as their 2016 Bed Month Charity
LONDON, March 4, 2016 /PRNewswire/ --
The month of March is National Bed Month, aiming to raise awareness around the importance of a good night's sleep. Unfortunately, not everyone in the UK is fortunate enough to have a bed of their own. Research conducted by the charity Centrepoint shows that 83,000 young people experience homelessness in the UK every year.

Throughout March, Sloane & Sons are pledging to donate 5% of all sales made through their online retail portal http://www.bedmattress.co.uk, which will then go directly to End Youth Homelessness.
Although people sleeping rough on the streets is the most common face of homelessness, there are also many homeless young people who are hidden from view, forced to sofa surf or live in unsafe places.
Edward Sloane, Managing Director of Sloane & Sons, said: 'I think we are all guilty at some point about ignoring or forgetting about homelessness, or associating homelessness with alcohol or drug addiction. This really isn't the case, and lots of the young people that the End Youth Homelessness (EYH) charities work with find themselves homeless and at risk through no fault of their own. Some of the people EYH charities work with are victims of violence in the home, and as such become homeless because it isn't safe for them to be at home.'
Sloane & Sons want to use National Bed Month to help raise much needed funds for End Youth Homelessness, a collaboration of charities from across the UK that help with the housing, health and education of young people who find themselves homeless in the UK.
Emma Cairns, End Youth Homelessness' National Partnerships Manager, said: "We are thrilled that Sloane & Sons have chosen to support homeless young people through End Youth Homelessness. The number of young people forced to sleep rough in London alone has doubled in recent years and so this support could not have come at a better time. This support means we will be able to provide housing, health and education for some of our most vulnerable young people."
