Smart911 from Intrado Enhances Availability of Emergency Data for First Responders
Intrado Joins Growing List of Rave Mobile Safety Partners Integrating and Reselling Smart911 National Public Safety Service into Solutions
FRAMINGHAM, Mass., May 8, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Rave Mobile Safety, the trusted software partner for campus and public safety, today announced that Intrado® has joined a rapidly growing list of resellers now integrating the national public safety service Smart911™ into market leading 9-1-1 technology solutions. The result is Smart911 from Intrado, a national service giving citizens the ability to create secure online Safety Profiles of critical information they would like to make available to first responders in the event of a 9-1-1 call. Smart911 from Intrado provides public safety answering points (PSAPs) a valuable tool for enhancing call processing and dispatching effectiveness that has proven to save lives.
Through the partnership, Intrado will integrate Smart911 into its emergency communications products and services to be resold as Smart911 from Intrado. This allows Intrado to enhance the availability of critical data and support it provides for first responders by leveraging the reach and features of Smart911, which in less than three years has grown to help protect citizens in 29 states and more than 350 municipalities.
"Rave Mobile Safety and Intrado share a commitment to innovation in public safety and the synergy of our products advances our efforts to bring even greater support to first responders," said Steve Lowe, senior vice president, Intrado. "Smart911 is an innovator in providing valued data to 9-1-1. Now, Smart911 from Intrado will provide public safety agencies with an integrated solution utilizing critical citizen provided data to further drive call taking and dispatch processes."
"Intrado is a leader in public safety emergency communications products and services, and the integration of Smart911 data into their solutions will provide another valuable dimension of insight for handling emergencies," said Tom Axbey, president and CEO of Rave Mobile Safety. "Smart911 from Intrado provides public safety agencies and the citizens they serve a unique way to enhance communications, and ultimately, improve the level of emergency response services available. We look forward to expanding the national footprint of Smart911 and further helping first responders avert tragedy and save lives."
Citizens can create Smart911 Safety Profiles free of charge at www.Smart911.com by entering vital data that they want made available to 9-1-1 operators in the event they make a 9-1-1 call. Information about themselves and family members, their residence and even pets can include details on medical conditions, disabilities and/or special needs, children's photos, home addresses of cell phone callers, bedroom locations and other pertinent information. Smart911 automatically delivers this information to supported PSAPs when a 9-1-1 call is made from any phone in their Safety Profile. As a result, first responders can arrive at the right location faster with the right resources and improved situational awareness. Because it is a national system, once a Smart911 Safety Profile has been created, it can be delivered with an emergency call in any area of the country if the local 9-1-1 PSAP is supported by Smart911.
