SmartLabs, Inc. Names Joe Gerber President and COO

IRVINE, Calif., Aug. 25, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- SmartLabs, Inc., the leader in home automation technology development and sales, announced today it has appointed Joe Gerber to the position of President and Chief Operating Officer. He will report to CEO Joe Dada.

Gerber joins SmartLabs from Composites Unlimited, a leading design, engineering and composites manufacturing firm servicing the commercial and military aerospace markets, where he held the position of President.

Prior to Composites Unlimited, Gerber served as the Managing Director at US Business Exchange (USBX), a boutique investment bank providing buy and sell-side transaction services, and advisory services in the areas of private placements, acquisition finance, recapitalizations and refinancings to mid-market companies and private equity groups. Gerber also held executive positions with eMerge Corporation (which was acquired by USBX) and a division of Citigroup. He began his career with Nissho Iwai American Corporation.

Gerber holds a B.S. in Aeronautical Studies from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University and a Master of Business Administration from Pepperdine University.
