SMRP Announces 2017-2018 Scholarships for College Students
ATLANTA, Feb. 6, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- The Society for Maintenance & Reliability Professionals (SMRP) today announced the launch of its scholarship program for the 2017-2018 academic year. The scholarships are available for rising juniors, seniors and graduate students at two-year and four-year schools.
Three academic scholarships ranging from $2,000 to $10,000 will be awarded to students enrolled in maintenance, reliability or engineering-focused degree programs. An additional two scholarships are available for family members of an SMRP member, regardless of their area of study. All rising juniors, seniors and graduate students who meet this and other academic criteria at an accredited university, trade school, technical college or vocational school are welcome to apply.
"Our society is committed to providing resources to the next generation of practitioners and professionals," said Erin Erickson, executive director of SMRP. "This program is another way we're able to recognize individuals who will have a profound impact on our profession and in their chosen industries in the future."
The deadline for applications is June 2, 2017. Applicants will be judged on academic standing, work experience in the maintenance, reliability and physical asset management field, non-work experience and leadership activities.
Scholarships will be awarded in August, and the winners will be honored at the SMRP 25th Annual Conference in Kansas City, Missouri, in October. For more information on how to apply, visit www.smrp.org/scholarships.
