Society for New Communications Research of The Conference Board Announces Call for Entries for 2017 Excellence in New Communications Awards
Awards honor excellence in the use of digital, social, and mobile technologies across business, media, health, law, culture and society--Submissions close Friday, February 3, 2017.
NEW YORK, Oct. 21, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- The Society for New Communications Research of The Conference Board (SNCR) today opened its call for entries for the 2017 Excellence in New Communications Awards. Organizations that have made innovative use of digital, social, and mobile technologies can now submit their case studies for consideration at www.conferenceboard.org/sncrawards2017. Entrants are asked to detail their initiatives, technologies used, and success metrics.
This prestigious Excellence in New Communications Awards program honors the work of corporations, nonprofits, governmental organizations, educational institutions, media organizations, and individuals who are advancing the use of digital and social media, mobile media, collaborative technologies, virtual reality, and other emerging digital technologies to improve business, media, health, law, culture, and society.
The winning case studies will be published by The Conference Board and winners will be honored at its 22nd Annual Senior Corporate Communications Management Conference in spring 2017.
Award divisions and categories
Awards will be granted across six divisions—Academic, Corporate, Government, Media, Nonprofit/NGO, and Technology Innovation—and in eight categories:
- Innovation in Digital Experience
Category includes social marketing projects and projects utilizing augmented reality, virtual reality, or the internet of things, as well as innovations designed to reach new and/or younger audiences
- Communications, Communities and Collaboration
Category includes projects that leverage social media and online platforms to build customer communities, employee communities, developer communities, corporate intranets, or other online engagement initiatives
- Mobile Experience
Category includes mobile apps or mobile web projects focused on internal and external audiences
- Social Data and Social Listening Projects
Category includes use of applications social data for improved communications, customer insights, customer experience, R&D, and innovation
- Storytelling
Category includes both text-based and visual media (photos, videos, graphics) designed to reach audiences by constructing and disseminating a compelling narrative
- Digital and Social Media for Social Good
Category includes projects with the sole goal of creating social impact, raising awareness, and improving engagement with social-good programs
Judging criteria
The Excellence in New Communications Awards honor projects that are successful at achieving business goals. For this reason, judges will reward entries that achieve excellence of implementation within their category and display the following characteristics:
- Meaningful, demonstrable ROI
- Effective use of other program performance metrics
- Contribution to achieving business/organizational goals (this includes, for relevant projects, achieving social good)
- Integration of digital and traditional platforms
- Efforts to overcome obstacles and take advantage of opportunities
- Recognition of lessons learned
