SOCOCO® Adds Team Screens™ to Team Space Social Communication Service
Next Generation Screen Sharing Based on Persisted Embedded Browsers
MOUNTAIN VIEW, Calif., March 2, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Sococo, the social communications company, today announced the release of Team Screens™ for Team Space, the social communications service for distributed teams. Team Screens enable users to place and keep browser and desktop-based applications in their Team Space rooms. Team Screens replace traditional screen sharing. Team Screens create a way to not only share multiple applications during live meetings but also have persistent access to favorite cloud-based applications at any time day or night. Team Screens are available immediately at www.sococo.com.
Team Screens provide unique screen sharing capabilities that include: multiple screens, integrated browser support, spatial bookmarks, persistence and always-on services. Online voice communications and web conferencing services already in the market only enable single screen sharing without these advanced features.
"Our user base has told us that they want to have applications placed in rooms, persisted, and easily shared," said Paul Brody, president. "Our customers use Team Space chat, voice and screen sharing for as much as 13 hours a day, day in and day out."
"Team Screens are embedded browsers in our communications service and this is a game changer. Shared team browsers enable a team to use and persist multiple web-based applications to improve their productivity, efficiency and team cohesion," added Brody.
Team Screens Features
Team Screens work just like a browser. You place them in the desired conference room or office and configure them by bookmarking any browser accessible service or content (there are preconfigured services as well). Once configured, anyone who navigates to a room with a Team Screen may click on it and gain instant access to the bookmarked content.
Team Screen content is always shared. Multiple people can click on the same Team Screen and discuss its content together in real time, complete with voice, chat and the ability to open and discuss several Team Screens at the same time. Team Screens features include:
Multiple screens: Users can configure up to five Team Screens in conference rooms and up to two Team Screens in an office. Users can view the content of any Team Screen in a room by simply clicking the Team Screen icon.
Integrated Browser support: Full functioning browser is embedded in a Team Screen.
Shared Spatial bookmarks: Place a Team Screen in the desired location and configure it by bookmarking any browser accessible service or content. Once configured, anyone clicking on a Team Screen has instant access to the bookmarked content.
Shared application control: The first user who clicks on a Team Screen during a meeting is in control of the Team Screen content. Any user can click on the "Take Control" icon at any time to instantly take over control of the content. This user will then be in control of the Team Screen content.
Persistence: Team Screens can be placed in any office or conference room in a Team Space. Once placed, a Team Screen persists in that location and is accessible by anyone in the space. Team Screens can be deleted at any time.
Always on: Any user clicking on the screen gains immediate access to the Team Screen content.
Preconfigured Services: Preconfigured services for distributed teams are available in a Team Screen pull down menu that includes:
- Development teams: Basecamp, AgileZen, Bugzilla, CollabNet, GitHub, JIRA, Unfuddle, VersionOne
- Sales and Marketing: Basecamp, NetSuite, Salesforce and SugarCRM
- Finance: QuickBooks
