AIRPORT CITY, Israel, Dec. 22, 2010 /PRNewswire/ -- SodaStream International, Ltd. (Nasdaq: SODA), a leading manufacturer and distributor of home soda makers, today announced that its products are now sold in more than 40,000 locations worldwide, up from 35,000 earlier this year.

"We continue to expand our distribution to more stores as our products attract new retailers as well as consumers, in the US and around the world," said Daniel Birnbaum, CEO of SodaStream. "This holiday season beverage drinkers are showing they clearly understand that there is a new way – the SodaStream way – where they can make over 100 different flavors of soda at home, using tap water, without carrying heavy shopping bags or trying to find storage space for their drinks. Not only that, but our consumers are helping the environment as they no longer have to dispose of bottles and cans that pollute our planet."
In the UK, the Company launched a "SodaStream is Back" marketing campaign in July 2010, integrating various media such as TV, digital and print. Retailers such as Robert Dyas and Comet recently expanded to include the full SodaStream system of soda makers, flavored syrups, bottles and CO2 refills. Sainsbury's, a heritage UK shopping destination for over a century, now carries the full system in 100 superstores. SodaStream is also now available at all 700 Argos stores, the UK's largest general-goods retailer and a subsidiary of the Home Retail Group (LSE: HOME.L).
"SodaStream has been a big success for Argos," said Steve Knights, Commercial Director at Argos. "Since SodaStream was re-launched in the UK in July, the in-store displays have played an important part in its appeal among customers. As a result, SodaStream's presence has grown and it now sits within the top 5 Kitchen Equipment brands for Argos."
Mr. Birnbaum concluded, "We are excited to reach the 40,000 store milestone. It is important to note that we are driving growth across all regions, including the US which contributed significantly to the increasing number of retail locations. This is in-line with our strategy, and we are confident in SodaStream's ability to continue to add more points of sale in 2011."
