Sogou Showcases World's Leading AI Technologies at CES 2019

LAS VEGAS, Jan. 9, 2019 /PRNewswire/ -- Sogou Inc. (NYSE: SOGO) ("Sogou" or "the Company"), an innovator in search and a leader in China's internet industry, announced its participation in the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) 2019 in Las Vegas, January 8-11, 2019. This marks Sogou's debut at CES and the first time for Sogou's leading AI technologies and products, including its facial transfer technology, AI News Anchor and smart translation devices, to be demonstrated internationally.

Facial Transfer Technology

Combining cutting-edge AI technologies in facial recognition, three-dimensional facial modeling and facial expression manipulation, Sogou's facial transfer technology enables real-time changes in dynamic facial expressions with one simple image of the target character. Sogou will continue to explore the application of this technology in areas such as live broadcast, video interaction and education. By constantly exploring the application of various AI technologies, Sogou is helping to shape the smart lifestyles of the future.

AI News Anchor

The world's first AI news anchor, developed based on Sogou's leading technology, is able to simulate natural speech and expressions. Sogou's AI Anchor technology incorporates the latest advances in image detection and prediction capabilities, as well as speech synthesis, which allow the virtual anchor to "broadcast" text inputs in real time.

With Sogou's technology, textual input can be transformed into corresponding lip movements, providing users with a highly customizable interactive experience. With a focus on natural language processing and machine learning, Sogou has developed industry-leading capabilities in real-time audio and video synthesis.

Smart Translation Devices

Sogou launched three machine translation devices in 2018 including the Sogou Travel Translator, the Sogou Smart Translation Recorder and the Sogou Translator Pro, all of which support multi-language human-to-machine translation. The devices have a wide range of functions, including the ability to translate between up to 42 languages, translation of image-embedded text on menus and street signs, and offline translation.

The products are powered by Sogou's AI technology that is recognized as among the most advanced in the world. Sogou's co-developed Speech Translation System ranked first at the internationally renowned 2018 International Workshop on Spoken Language Translation (IWSLT), while its facial recognition technology also ranked first in the 2018 MegaFace Million-Scale Face Recognition Challenge.
