By partnering with local gourmet establishments we are able to provide unique pop-up dining experiences, learning experiences and opportunities to network more often at an affordable price.
About Chef Bernard James:
Hailing from Guyana, the only English-speaking country in South America, which has strong cultural connections to the Caribbean, Chef Bernard James brings the diverse flavors of the Caribbean to every dish he creates. After his stint with Carnival Cruise Line, Bernard took a hiatus from the culinary scene and ran a successful plumbing business in New York City. Six years later, he returned to his true love and opened his first restaurant (Corlette NY) in 2007.
On a trip to Los Angeles the following year, Bernard recognized the absence of modern Caribbean cuisine in Hollywood. He moved to LA in 2014 and opened the Taste of the Caribbean LA food truck. After an outpouring of genuine support and encouragement, he seized the opportunity to expand and opened Taste of the Caribbean LA in the heart of Hollywood in 2015.
With over 20 + years in the industry, Chef Bernard's mission is to continue to spread the essence of Caribbean culture through his food.
