John P. Quirke, Leading Employment and Labor Lawyer Joins SorinRand as Partner

Quirke's practice focuses on employment and labor law as well as trade secret protection. John counsels companies, management and executives in every aspect of the employer-employee relationship including wage and hour law, employment discrimination and harassment, restrictive covenants, employee leave and executive compensation. He uses his expertise and knowledge to not only support his clients' legal compliance but to help resolve their employment issues with a practical, goal-oriented results approach tailored to each client's unique culture and viewpoint. John's approach aligns well with SorinRand's client-centric philosophy and core values.
John also represents clients in various types of employment disputes including negotiations, grievance and arbitration matters, and litigation in federal and state courts. John's diverse client base ranges from start-ups to Fortune 500 companies in a broad range of industries. Prior to joining SorinRand, he was as a partner in the labor and employment law practice at a large regional law firm. His many years of experience, background and expertise in employment and labor law, trade secret protection and all aspects of the employment relationship position him well to serve and expand the firm's services to SorinRand's client base of startup, early stage, emerging growth, and middle-market enterprises.
John's representations include the buy-out and severance agreements for owners of an emerging technology company, enforcement of restrictive covenants for an inventor/manufacturer against a distributor attempting to misappropriate trade secrets, achieving summary judgment on an 11 count discrimination complaint against a Fortune 500 company, development of harassment and discrimination policy for an international sports venue, development of social media policy for an entertainment industry company, defense of after-school enrichment program against whistleblower and wrongful termination claims, representation of multi-national distributor against a Department of Labor wage audit involving over 1,000 employees and deauthorization of a union for a company in the hospitality industry.
A recognized speaker on employment law matters, John has lectured on behalf of many organizations including the American Bar Association, the New Jersey Institute for Continuing Legal Education, the Pennsylvania Bar Institute, the ADP Institute for Educational Excellence, the American Payroll Association and the Society for Human Resources Management (SHRM) and is listed in the "SHRM Recommended Speakers" directory. John writes frequently on employment law matters for various publications including the New Jersey Law Journal, Security Management Magazine and the Human Resource Professional, and is an active member of professional organizations such as the American Bar Association, the New Jersey Bar Association, and SHRM. John also is committed to community service and is a member of the Human Resources Committee of the YMCA of Hunterdon County and provides pro bono services to SAFE in Hunterdon.
