ATLANTA, Jan. 13 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- SouthernLINC Wireless, a Southern Company (NYSE: SO), today announced that the company's president and CEO, Bob Dawson, has been re-elected for the ninth consecutive year to the board of directors of CTIA–The Wireless Association®.

Dawson is serving a one-year term as a small carrier director for the wireless industry trade group for the 2010 fiscal year, which began Jan. 1.

"As we continue to educate and work with local, state, and federal policy and regulatory members on various wireless matters, it's important we have experienced executives such as Bob Dawson on our team to advocate for the industry and the more than 276 million U.S. subscribers," said Steve Largent, CTIA–The Wireless Association president and CEO. Dawson has served as president and CEO of SouthernLINC Wireless since the company's commercial launch in 1996 and has been a part of Southern Company for more than 45 years.
