ATLANTA, March 19, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- After a cold, seemingly endless winter in Atlanta, Sparks Grove welcomes a new season of growth and opportunities with Spring First. The marketing strategy and creative firm, a division of global consultancy North Highland, launches its annual volunteer service project on Thursday, March 20, the first day of spring. Employees will plant 50 trees in Atlanta's historic Candler Park.
"Our company name came from the idea that we are a place where great ideas are developed and nourished," said Minsoo Pak, Founder & Chief Creative Officer of Sparks Grove. "The tree is a symbol to that commitment and this is an ideal way for us to reflect our theme of growth while giving back to the community."
Sparks Grove believes that giving back to the community is important to cultivating relationships. The firm is purposeful about creatively spreading this message and is giving its clients branded Spring First planters and wildflower seeds to spark their own springtime growth.
Candler Park is one of Atlanta's oldest neighborhoods where there are many trees that are dying and need replacing. Sparks Grove will partner with Trees Atlanta to plant 8 different native species of trees, including serviceberries that will yield berries during fruiting season. Volunteers will also plant white oaks, redbuds, sugar maples and dogwoods among others. The trees will sit on the street line between the sidewalk and the road, providing shade and an ornamental aesthetic to the park.
"We're happy to partner with Sparks Grove on this initiative and contribute more trees to Atlanta's urban forest," said Alex Beasley, landscape designer and art educator for Trees Atlanta. "These trees will keep us cool, improve our environment and make our communities more beautiful."
For Sparks Grove, this volunteer project is an investment in the community and a way to illustrate the creative ideas and seamless solutions the firm provides for the world's leading brands.
"We plan to celebrate Spring First every year and tell the Sparks Grove story through our service to the community and our clients," said Rob Sherrell, vice president of Sparks Grove. "Beautifying one of Atlanta's greatest neighborhoods is the perfect way to usher in the spring season and a new era of growth for our firm."
