Spectra Energy Corp Contributes $100,000 to Southern Alberta Relief Efforts
HOUSTON, June 25, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Spectra Energy Corp (NYSE: SE) today announced a donation of $100,000 to the Canadian Red Cross to assist those in need as a result of the extraordinary flooding in Southern Alberta. In addition, the company will match any employee gift from $50 to $7500 to the Canadian Red Cross, under Spectra Energy's matching gift program.
Spectra Energy has operated in Western Canada for more than 55 years and is dedicated to giving back to local communities. In addition to the monetary support, Spectra Energy employees are initiating a Helping Hands in Action project, part of the company's annual community service program, to help those community groups in the greatest need in the Calgary area. The program provides volunteer support as well as $1000 grants to provide supplies for the projects.
