SPiN, The Original Ping Pong Social Club, Announces Its Latest Expansion Into Austin Along With The Launch Of Its New Digital Programming

Located at 213 West 5th Street on the notable street corner of Lavaca, this iconic neighborhood in the heart of downtown will soon be swarming with the best of SPiN's eclectic culture. From tournaments, private lessons to casual play, our spin on the ping pong experience is a game changer. The location was chosen in part for its central location as well the building's historical roots – a former iconic venue in the live music scene of Austin, that helped launch the careers of many famous blues artists. The club will feature 14 Olympic-style Stiga ping pong tables, private lounge spaces, a full-service restaurant and bar that can accommodate anywhere from a few people to over 500 guests for corporate events, parties, lessons, tournament leagues and everything in between.

We have players from all walks of life – from techies, to pros, to casual players - which includes those completely new to the sport. In time for South by South West, SPiN will give Interactive badge holders a taste of the SPiN experience as part of the official SXSW kickoff party for the sports track and offer guests a first look at SPiN's new App.

The app will allow ping pong fanatics on a global scale to connect with new players, match up with current friends or create a group within the app to see who is ranked the highest and challenge one another to a game of ping pong. Users are placed into two separate ranking systems that showcase their scores on a local level and on a global scale based on games played, percentages of wins and losses and a schedule of upcoming matches.

In conjunction with the App, SPiN New York will be exclusively launching its own virtual reality program, the latest digital way to play ping pong. Users will now be able to virtually play from SPiN's location against someone in the same room. With the unique game modes, players can choose new experiences that will allow them to customize their own paddles, ping pong balls and venues. Players can select the difficulty levels for each mode based on their serious ping pong skills.
