Today the General Assembly of the German Olympic Sports Confederation (DOSB) has voted in favour of Hamburg as the German nominee for the 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games. Hamburg's concept is sustainable and compact: an industrial port site will be transformed into a new quarter - the "Olympic City". Situated close to the city centre it will be turned into a residential area after the Olympics. Photo credits: gmp Architects / Gartner & Christ
