SquareTrade Announces Warranty + Guaranteed Buyback Package for Verizon iPhone
SAN FRANCISCO, Feb. 10, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- SquareTrade announced today a new program that includes a TechForward Guaranteed Buyback plan with a SquareTrade iPhone or iPad warranty, at no additional cost to the customer.
SquareTrade's iPhone Warranty, the best alternative to overpriced iPhone Insurance, protects against drops, spills, and other common accidents, as well as all normal mechanical and electrical failures for 2 years. TechForward's Guaranteed Buyback plan allows users to buy electronics with confidence, knowing that they will get cash back for their devices should they decide to upgrade to the latest model before 2 years.
The Guaranteed Buyback plan provides users with a percentage of the unsubsidized price of the phone, before any carrier discounts, when they decide they want to upgrade to a new phone. The amount the customer gets back changes depending on when they return their phone - from 50% for the first six months, to 40% for months 6-12, 30% for months 12-18, and 20% for months 18-24.
To celebrate the launch of the iPhone 4 for Verizon, from now until February 14th, SquareTrade is offering this 2 year Warranty plus Guaranteed Buyback plan on the iPhone for just $81, a 35% discount from SquareTrade's base retail price of $124.99. For a limited time after February 14th, SquareTrade will continue to offer the Guaranteed Buyback plan as part of its standard iPhone and iPad warranties, priced at $99 and $96 respectively.
"By bundling SquareTrade with TechForward, we are able to provide Verizon iPhone customers with a great way to hedge against the risk of both iPhone failure and early upgrade envy," notes Steve Abernethy, CEO of SquareTrade. "Users who want a Verizon iPhone now can do so, get a warranty, and know that they'll get some of their cash back should they decide to upgrade to the iPhone 5 before the year is over."
"SquareTrade's initiative to give customers a Guaranteed Buyback plan along with their iPhone and iPad warranty shows how innovative they are as a warranty provider," said Jade Van Doren, CEO of TechForward. "The combined product provides customers with a complete package that is unique in the market today."
