Amantea brings a distinctive blend of transactional and litigation experience to Squire Sanders, as well as an extensive background in environmental law and regulation in California, the world's eighth largest economy and the focus of many environmental initiatives, such as the Green Chemistry Initiative.
"Chris is an exciting addition to the environmental, safety and health group," said Karen A. Winters, Squire Sanders' Environmental, Safety and Health Practice Group leader. "His background provides a strong complement to our existing practice and we are confident that our clients in California and throughout the U.S. will significantly benefit from his insight and expertise."
"Chris brings a wealth of experience on the litigation and counseling side of environmental law, and allows us to offer even greater depth to our clients in an area that has been a growing part of our practice," said James H. Broderick, Jr., managing partner of Squire Sanders' Los Angeles office.
At Squire Sanders, Amantea's environmental practice will focus on air, water, solid and hazardous waste regulation and remediation and complex litigation, including products liability and toxic tort matters.
"This is an exceptional opportunity for me," said Amantea. "Squire Sanders' global reach provides the platform to work not only with clients in California, but the U.S. and the world. I look forward to making a meaningful contribution as a member of its global environmental team."
Prior to joining Squire Sanders, Amantea was a partner with Hunton & Williams.
