LOS ANGELES, Sept. 12, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- ADCOLOR, the premier organization celebrating and promoting professionals of color and diversity in the creative industries, is heading to Los Angeles to hold their 11th annual awards show and conference at the Loews Hollywood Hotel on September 18-19, 2017.
The event will be a star-studded affair, with notable guests including Snoop Dogg, Don Lemon, Janet Mock, Aisha Tyler, Grey's Anatomy's Jesse Williams and Ellen Pompeo, Star Trek: Discovery's Wilson Cruz, Master of None's Lena Waithe and Queen Sugar's Rutina Wesley. Corporate leaders attending the event include Uber's Bozoma Saint John, Droga5's Ted Royer, GLAAD's Sarah Kate Ellis and Ogilvy & Mather CEO John Seifert.
"We could not be more excited for this year's awards show and conference, in large part due to the fantastic guests we have attending," said Tiffany R. Warren, ADCOLOR's Founder and President. "That so many big names are using their considerable platforms to address the importance of representation, diversity and inclusion is really a testament to how significant this matter is."
For over a decade, the event has provided an opportunity for the organization to honor those who embody ADCOLOR's motto "Rise Up and Reach Back." Those honored not only excel in their own careers, but also give back to the community and support their peers. ADCOLOR's goal is to create a rich network of diverse professionals that encourage and celebrate one another.
"Being this year's Advocate honoree inspires and emboldens me to reach higher and continue my life's work fighting for true diversity and actual inclusivity in the media," said Wilson Cruz, actor and previous host of the ADCOLOR Awards.
Additionally, ADCOLOR has partnered with Twitter to create a custom emoji that attendees can use when posting about the event. The "Love Together" heart, which is a multicolored heart, will appear when people use the hashtag #ADCOLOR and the pencil will appear when people use the hashtag #ADCOLORFutures. The bespoke emoji will go live on September 11th through September 26th.
"It was absolutely a pleasure for ADCOLOR to collaborate with Droga5 and Twitter to design our custom emojis," said Adu, ADCOLOR's Director of Social Media. "In crafting the emojis, we aimed to signify love, care, and unity, as well as our excitement for the future."
The ADCOLOR Awards will take place in Los Angeles, at the Loews Hollywood Hotel on September 19th, 2017 and are presented by GSD&M and Omnicom Group.
