NEW YORK, Sept. 10, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- StarShop, the m-commerce app founded by pioneer of "As Seen On TV" and original Shark Tank judge, Kevin Harrington, announced today its remembrance of September 11th with original Ground Zero photographs and memorabilia shot by photographer and founder of the Ground Zero Museum Workshop, Gary Marlon Suson.
The collection, which includes the Barnes & Noble Publishing produced coffee table book, "Requiem: Images of Ground Zero," porcelain collector's plates, marble display coasters, wrapped canvases, acrylic photo cubes and more, is now available to the public for the first time via StarShop. More than 50% of proceeds will go towards the Ground Zero Museum Workshop, a 501 (c) (3) Non-profit Charity.
Suson, an Honorary FDNY Battalion Chief, served as the official photographer at Ground Zero for the Uniformed Firefighter's Association. With 24/7 unrestricted access to every part of the World Trade Center site, Suson has raised thousands of dollars from the sale of his images to benefit the FDNY Widow's & Children's Fund. The images presented on StarShop are currently on display at the Ground Zero Museum Workshop in Manhattan - recently awarded Trip Advisor's "Top 25 Museums in the USA" Award.
"The Ground Zero Museum Workshop has steadily been the only 9/11-themed Museum in New York City to 'give back' to other charities pertaining to the FDNY and the 9/11 attacks. We have raised tens of thousands of trackable dollars for the widows and orphan's fund as well as other charities because we wanted to give back. It felt like the right thing to do," said photographer Gary Marlon Suson. "Through StarShop, we can take things yet one step further. Americans have a right to own these images and now they can via tasteful, respectful merchandise."
"I am so grateful that StarShop is able to pay tribute to 9/11 through Gary Marlon Suson's historic photography collection," said Marvin Segel, Executive Vice President of Business Development, StarShop. "By showcasing these rare images on the 14th anniversary of this tragic day, we honor the victims, their family members, survivors, rescue workers and volunteers."
The collection of photographs, dubbed as "rare photos" by the New York Times, are available for purchase at www.starshop.com or by downloading the StarShop App via the iTunes App Store and Google Play.

About Ground Zero Museum Workshop:
Ground Zero Museum Workshop is a small, hands-on interactive 9/11 museum in New York City's Meatpacking district that focuses solely on the Ground Zero Recovery Period, when firefighters and recovery crews spent nine months searching for the missing. Museum Founder Gary Marlon Suson spent seven months as the only 24/7 all-access photographer in the world permitted to document every area of Ground Zero, including the subway tunnels below WTC. Mr. Suson was given the rare title of FDNY Honorary Battalion Chief by the FDNY Fire Commissioner in 2004 for his work at the World Trade Center. The museum breaks the mold of any conventional museum by allowing its guests to pick up and hold rare World Trade Center artifacts as well as offering audio tours in Spanish, French, Italian and English behind 100 images & artifacts that contain real sound effects from ground zero video. The museum won Trip Advisor's "Top 25 Museums in the USA" award in 2013 & 2014. Mr. Suson, who is unsalaried at GZMW, spent four years prior to 9/11 as acclaimed artist LeRoy Neiman's personal photographer as well as shooting fashion and celebrity portraits. His 9/11 images have raised many tens of thousands of dollars for FDNY 9/11-related charities. On the web at: www.GaryMarlonSuson.org and www.GroundZeroMuseumWorkshop.org.
