Statement in response to the Merrimack Valley gas explosions

BOSTON, Sept. 14, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- Blue Cross Blue Shield of Massachusetts ("Blue Cross") is monitoring the situation in the Merrimack Valley with great concern. Like all Massachusetts residents, we are focused on the safety of those involved, including first responders.

Our member service team is on high alert and we are working to ensure that members can access health services and medications quickly and in locations convenient to them, even if they've been displaced. This includes allowing early refills of prescription medications as needed.
