Statement of the Automotive Coalition for Traffic Safety on the National Transportation Safety Board's (NTSB's) recommendation regarding a 0.05 blood alcohol concentration (BAC) per se limit
WASHINGTON, May 14, 2013 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- "Every aspect of the Driver Alcohol Detection System for Safety (DADSS) research project – from the ongoing engineering work over several years to the Congressional endorsement of the program included in last year's Federal surface transportation reauthorization legislation – is based on the national standard of 0.08 BAC. Although ACTS appreciates the recently–stated NTSB support for the DADSS research activity, ACTS is not engaged in policy discussions regarding the BAC level and it has no plans to revise the direction of the DADSS research program."
