Founded in 1953, STD Med is an OEM Manufacturer to the global medical device industry as well as an acclaimed founder of novel spin-off med device companies such as Angiolink, Arthrosurface, Spirus Medical and Cardiosolutions.  In October, the STD Med family was saddened by the loss of its founder, Primo Tallarida.  The company has lost the sage advice he offered and the family, a loving patriarch. Everyone will miss his infectious smile, wit and charm.

To fill the Board seat vacated by the loss of Mr. Tallarida, STD Med is pleased to announce that Ed Maggiacomo, Sr., of Cranston, RI, has joined the Board.  Mr. Maggiacomo is a founding member of the prominent Providence, RI law firm Adler, Pollock and Sheehan. He brings over forty years of legal and business experience with growing companies.  The appointment of Mr. Maggiacomo continues STD Med's tradition of truly being a family run business as Mr. Maggiacomo is the father-in-law of STD's current President - Steven Tallarida.
