Steel Framing Industry Association Names Larry Williams as Executive Director
FALLS CHURCH, Va., Aug. 2, 2012 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- The Steel Framing Industry Association, Falls Church, Va., is pleased to announce the appointment of Larry W. Williams as SFIA Executive Director.
Williams, a 30-year veteran in the cold-formed steel framing, industry is charged with developing programs and initiatives to meet the education and training needs of members, support continuous industry innovation and promote broad awareness of the many advantages of cold-formed steel.
"Larry brings industry leadership and a keen understanding of the market and its growth opportunities," says William Courtney, SFIA president and also chief executive officer of ClarkDietrich Building Systems. "Larry has a stellar record of success in developing construction markets for steel framing as well as in expanding the interests of the steel industry at large."

The SFIA represents more than 950 members composed of steel mills, coil coaters, processors, roll-formers, fabricators, engineers, material distributors and framing contractors. SFIA promotes using cold-formed steel framing, advocates pro-industry codes and standards, conducts seminars and supports competiveness through innovation. SFIA manages two quality assurance programs for end-users, and provides statistical and trend data for the industry regarding safety, steel usage and prices.
