Steven Prewitt Skull Base Disease Foundation Presents $600,000 Donation to the North American Skull Base Society

The meeting brought together medical professionals from a wide range of disciplines to learn about recent advances in instrumentation and technology in skull base surgery, and gain knowledge in challenging skull base pathology from experienced leaders in the field.

"I had the cherished opportunity to know Steven as a patient and dear friend, and I was humbled to present this donation to NASBS in his name," said Dr. Mansfield, Director of Skull Base Surgery and Head and Neck Oncology at Senta Clinic in San Diego and Chairman of the Steven Prewitt Skull Base Disease Foundation.

Skull base surgery is a highly specialized, minimally invasive surgical technique for evaluating, diagnosing and treating benign or cancerous growths located on the underside of the brain, the base of the skull and the upper vertebrae of the spinal column.

Steven Prewitt Skull Base Disease Foundation is a multidisciplinary information repository, founded by Steven Prewitt, to advance the education, treatment and cure of skull base diseases.  Patients with a head and neck disease now have a dedicated place to go for answers. As a clearinghouse for patients and doctors, The Foundation is designed to help patients on a national and international level for years to come.

ABOUT THE STEVEN PREWITT SKULL BASE DISEASE FOUNDATION
The Mission of the foundation was conceived from the realization and Steven Prewitt's personal experience that patients with a head and neck disease need one place to go to be their "personal advocate." From his experience and interactions with top medical providers treating head and neck diseases, Steven Prewitt assembled a board of directors and established the Steven Prewitt Skull Base Surgery Foundation for patients and doctors that could help thousands to millions of people both nationally and internationally over the years.
