Still Time to "Get Your Heart Racing" This Weekend

DETROIT, Sept. 10, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- This Friday and Saturday, September 13-14, 2013 metro Detroiters will have an opportunity to get their hearts racing at one of the year's most exciting fund raisers, the Henry Ford Health System's "Get Your Heart Racing" dinner, auction and on-track driving event at Eastern Market's recently refurbished Shed 3 (dinner and auction) and the Ford Development Center and Proving Grounds for the drive of their lives!

Plus they'll be the first to see the all-new Ford Mustang designed specifically to be the "star" of the upcoming DreamWork's film, "Need for Speed".  The dazzling one-off Mustang is planned to be auctioned in spring, 2014 at the Barrett Jackson auction in Palm Beach, Fl.

Tickets are still available for both the Friday "Pit Party" dinner, with its one-of-a-kind auction items, and the on track experience with celebrity drivers or with participants themselves getting behind the wheel of Ford's products at the normally closed-to-the-public Proving Grounds in Dearborn.

Included among the auction items for the Friday night Pit Party are an amazing "American Idol" finals package, a full weekend of activities at the NASCAR Championship Weekend at the Homestead Miami Speedway in November, entry into the Miller Motor Sports High Speed Driving School in Utah, a trip to see The David Letterman show in New York, and much more.  Plus music by the Mega 80's, fabulous food and premium cocktails. 

Saturday's on track participants will ride along with celebrity drivers as they demonstrate their skills on the wet pad and Hot Laps on the famed Dearborn track.  They'll also be able to get behind the wheel for a first hand drive of Ford's products.

Get Your Heart Racing is a fundraiser co-produced by Henry Ford Health System and Ford Motor Company in support of the Edith and Benson Ford Heart & Vascular Institute at Henry Ford Hospital.
