"The Edmon Low Library is often one of the first buildings prospective students and their families see when they arrive on campus. By fully restoring the bronze doors and adjacent signage to its original condition, Stuart Dean is revitalizing and protecting the surface for years to come," said Mark Parrish, president and CEO of Stuart Dean. "With more than 80 years of experience, Stuart Dean prides itself on projects such as this. Our technicians use advanced processes and products to restore architectural appointments and protect surfaces from staining and deterioration caused by environmental contamination and everyday use."
Located at the heart of OSU's Stillwater campus, the Edmon Low Library opened in 1953 and was named after Edmon Low, a university librarian who served from 1940-1967. Low was dedicated to expanding the library's space with a new building. Today, the library houses more than 1.7 million volumes.
"In our work with colleges and universities, we have learned that the campus tour is critical in recruiting new students, which means the campus needs to look its best at all times," said Jim Basile, general manager of Stuart Dean's Oklahoma City office. "At Stuart Dean, we are proud that our work on the Edmon Low Library has provided a safe, cost-effective restoration solution to OSU, and we think everyone in the campus community – students, faculty and staff – will be pleased with the results."
