NEW YORK, Aug. 7, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Stuart Dean, an international provider of renowned architectural restoration services, is launching a renewed effort to grow its reach in the New York metropolitan market, the same city that serves as its birthplace and corporate headquarters. Mark Parrish, president and CEO, has announced the appointment of Thomas Lawless to the position of senior vice president. Lawless will oversee operations in Stuart Dean's New York office, which is located in Long Island City.
"During more than eight decades of exceeding our customers' expectations through superior performance and attention to detail, Stuart Dean has secured its position as the leader in its industry. The people who drive this company on a daily basis are the ones who can also take credit for creating and maintaining that reputation, and with the appointment of Tom to his new position, we intend to open a new chapter in New York," Parrish said. "Tom brings a truly rare combination of deep experience in our business, a broad background in senior leadership positions and the desire and capacity to lead others. We expect great things from him."
A highly accomplished professional with a career that spans 40 years, Lawless comes to Stuart Dean after having served in a wide array of senior-level roles for companies in facilities management, maintenance and restoration. Most recently, Lawless served as senior vice president of TEMCO Service Industries, a 90-year-old, global, full-service cleaning, maintenance and security corporation based in New York. Prior to that, Lawless served as president of REMCO Maintenance Corporation, also based in New York. He earned his M.B.A. from the University of Hartford and his B.A. from Le Moyne College in Syracuse, New York.
"Tom joins the company at a time when our signature can be clearly seen on the Manhattan skyline," Parrish continued. "Earlier this summer, Stuart Dean put a new face on the New York Palace hotel by fully restoring its metal facade, returning the exterior to its original appearance after years of wear and tear from the elements. It's all part of a multi-million-dollar restoration project at the hotel designed to enhance the guest experience. At Stuart Dean, we have built our reputation on high-profile restoration projects such as this one, projects that require skilled craftsmanship and attention to detail. Tom brings that same level of dedication to his new job."
