Stuart Weitzman Debuts "Made for Walking" A Short Film Starring Stuart Weitzman Boots & Kate Moss

Designer Stuart Weitzman capitalizes on its stellar boot reputation with the launch of "Made for Walking" – a short film starring Kate Moss, the face of the brand's FW13 campaign - for distribution on the social media small screen. Directed by independent filmmaker Balthazar Klarwein, the film brings to life the palpable thrill of Kate Moss stepping out in London wearing Stuart Weitzman boots.

Shot in central London and set to a modern remake of the classic Nancy Sinatra song "These Boots Are Made for Walking" performed by artist Kari Kimmel, the film follows Kate Moss as she rides in a chauffeured car only to be thwarted by a traffic jam and opts to get out and walk to her destination – all while wearing fabulous Stuart Weitzman boots. The film chronicles the reactions of both eccentric characters and regular people to seeing an iconic supermodel decked out in spectacular boots walking through the London city streets.

The film is shot in dramatic black and white, mimicking the look and style of 1960s street photography while showcasing a stylized version of contemporary London via a retro classic filmmaking touch. As an extension of the brand's current fall advertising campaign, the film mirrors Kate Moss's effortless signature style. From her trademark shaggy furs to hip all-black ensembles, Moss's must-haves are perfect pairings for Weitzman's trademark boots. Moss exudes a sense of style and confidence that every woman aspires to emulate. Women want to dress like her, look like her and walk in her shoes … and now, she's walking in Stuart Weitzman's.

"Made for Walking" premiered on September 19th during Milan Fashion Week to an audience of respected fashion influencers at the opening of the brand's new Milan flagship store designed by Zaha Hadid.  The film will also be posted on www.stuartweitzman.com, and the brand's social channels will fuel the conversation by encouraging followers to share the video and view exclusive behind-the-scenes footage. An interactive Instagram video contest will occur simultaneously, in which fans can upload videos of themselves walking in Stuart Weitzman shoes; prizes will be awarded for the best submissions. A key theme of the film is the concept that walking in Stuart Weitzman boots is both easy and elegant, so the hashtag #madeforwalking will be launched to propel global social trending.

To coincide with the launch of the Milan flagship opening event, Stuart Weitzman commissioned Producer and DJ, Brendan Fallis, to create a track with sound bites from Kate Moss' interview which were pulled from the day of the shoot. Fallis collaborated with Andrew Watt, an extremely talented singer/songwriter and instrumentalist who is currently serving as the lead guitarist and Musical Director for Cody Simpson to come up with "Day & All Night". The track which is reminiscent of the funky rhythm of Daft Punk also features Billy Joel's saxophonist, Richie Cannata. It is Fallis and Watt's first collaboration.
