WASHINGTON, June 7, 2012 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Studley announced today that its Washington, DC regional offices have been named the #1 place to work in greater Washington by the Washington Business Journal in its annual survey of leading employers. The firm took the top spot among large sized companies (with non-local headquarters) in the publication's 2012 "50 Best Places to Work."
Founded in 1954, Studley is a commercial real estate services firm specializing in representing tenants. Headquartered in New York, the firm provides strategic real estate solutions to corporations, financial services firms, law firms and not-for-profit organizations across the United States and worldwide.
"It is an honor to be recognized among such a prestigious group of local businesses and it is even more rewarding that we achieved this distinction based on a survey of our employees, whom we consider to be our greatest asset," said Studley Executive Vice President and Branch Manager William Quinby, a 25-year veteran of the firm.
Studley, which has two offices in the DC region, has been ranked on the publication's "Best Places to Work" list a total of nine times to date. Each year, the firm earns high scores in the categories of workplace morale, opportunities for advancement, employment benefits, strength of the management team and the company's overall ability to retain employees.
"Not only is this achievement a direct reflection of the satisfaction among our professionals and staff, but it is also a testament to how we conduct business," said Executive Vice President and Branch Manager Tom Fulcher, a 26-year veteran of the firm. "We are a culture founded on trusting relationships – both with clients and colleagues – and have worked hard to build a work environment that rewards creativity, teamwork and an intense focus on meeting the needs of our clients, which we believe are key ingredients to our success."
The "Best Place to Work" award comes on the heels of a heavy award season for the Studley's DC region. In March of 2012, the firm's DC regional offices were named one of the "Fastest Growing Firms in the Mid Atlantic" by the Mid Atlantic Real Estate Journal. The firm has also recently announced a number of awards for a series of successful sales and leasing transactions.
According to the Washington Business Journal, the "Best Places to Work" awards were developed to recognize companies that go beyond the norm to foster a collaborative, meaningful and enjoyable work environment. The winners are selected based on results of quantitative employee surveys complied by Quantum Market Research. This year, the publication received more than 300 nominations.
