Stumphauzer To Lead New Lorain County Law Office for Walter | Haverfield
CLEVELAND, Dec. 11, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Attorney Kenneth S. Stumphauzer has joined Walter | Haverfield as the partner in charge of its new Avon office, officially expanding the firm's business footprint into Lorain County. Stumphauzer's transition from the firm he helped found–Stumphauzer, OToole–to Walter | Haverfield became effective November 1.
"This move allows me to effectively support my growing practice with the necessary bench strength and resources without having to leave Lorain County," said Stumphauzer. "I had looked at other firms, and many had looked at me, but Walter | Haverfield made the most sense because its practice areas overlap precisely with mine. The firm has a strong reputation in school law, municipal law and labor and employment law, in addition to its successful track record with private businesses. The lawyers at Walter | Haverfield are principled and zealously represent their clients. I feel I do the same. Since Walter | Haverfield's clients are roughly the same size as mine, it's a perfect fit."
The opening of the Avon location represents the first time that Walter | Haverfield has had an office in Lorain County. "We see a tremendous growth opportunity in Lorain County and the North Central Ohio region," said Ralph Cascarilla, managing partner of Walter | Haverfield. "Avon, in particular, is a vibrant area, and the surrounding region is home to many businesses, as well as larger school systems and municipalities that can be well served by our firm, especially given Ken's experience and reputation in the region."
For more than 35 years, Stumphauzer has served private sector businesses throughout North Central Ohio. He has also served as either the elected or appointed law director in the cities of Lorain, Amherst and Vermilion.
Joining Stumphauzer immediately at the new Avon location is Susan Keating Anderson, a Walter | Haverfield partner whose practice is focused primarily in labor and employment, education and litigation. Anderson began her career with Stumphauzer and was born and raised in Lorain County. "Susan is ideal for working with my clients, many of whom already know her," said Stumphauzer. "Her talent and commitment to client satisfaction make her a highly valuable partner who can assist with complicated legal matters."
Also joining the Walter | Haverfield team in Avon is Lorain County resident Margaret O'Bryon, whose areas of practice include workers' compensation employers' defense, municipal law, employment law and litigation. O'Bryon has strong roots in Lorain County, having practiced there since 1993. She also served as an adjunct professor at Lorain County Community College and has prosecuted cases for the cities of Lorain, Elyria, Amherst and Vermilion, as well as the Village of Wellington. She is also the Law Director for the Village of Kipton.
Additional attorneys are expected to join the Avon team as client demands increase. The Cleveland office of Walter | Haverfield currently has 58 attorneys who practice primarily in the following areas of law: general business, labor and employment, real estate, municipal, education, tax and wealth management, health care and litigation.
