Suarez Corporation Industries Moves EdenPURE® Manufacturing to North Canton, Ohio

NORTH CANTON, Ohio, May 10, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- In an innovative move to all-American manufacturing, Suarez Corporation Industries (SCI) today announced a new manufacturing and distribution facility in North Canton located in the former Hoover Vacuum Cleaner facility.

The deal announced today is the result of three years of work sourcing components, equipment and technology from local suppliers. The privately-held company asked for no state or federal tax relief or other support. The City of North Canton has offered, subject to approval by City Council, a refundable occupancy grant to assist with the transition to the new facility and ramp up of manufacturing. The city will refund up to 50 percent of SCI employees' and affiliates' paid city income tax back to the company at the end of each year for the first two years.

The company will consolidate operations from its existing two facilities located near the Akron-Canton Airport in Green and Plain Townships, moving 180 jobs to the Hoover District. The company expects to hire an additional 100 people as it ramps up manufacturing operations in the new facility.

The move to the new facility is expected to take place in June, with the plant fully operational in time for the fall and winter heating seasons.
