Submissions Are Now Being Accepted for 2013 NutrAwards

BOULDER, Colo., Oct. 19, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Submissions are now being accepted for 2013 NutrAwards at www.nutraward.com. The 2013 NutrAward for best new functional ingredient and best new finished product will be awarded by the industry to the industry on Thursday, March 7 at Nutracon (www.nutraconference.com) to be held March 6-7, 2013 in Anaheim, California. The award presentation also provides great opportunity to network with industry colleagues, and is open to all Engredea and Nutracon attendees.

The NutrAward winners are selected based on a weighted vote from the selection committee (consisting of a panel of industry experts, scientists and nutritionists), as well as by cumulative votes of registered Engredea and Nutracon attendees. From all submissions, finalists are chosen and then voted upon based on how well the ingredient or finished product meets the defined criteria including:

2012 NutrAward Winners

The 2012 Best New Ingredient NutrAward was awarded to InterHealth Nutraceuticals for to Zychrome® which consists of chromium, niacin and L-cysteine for managing insulin function.

The 2012 Best New Finished Product was awarded to Dole Nutrition Institute for Portobello Mushroom Powder, which is an all-natural, plant-based source of vitamin D that's great in soups, stews, casseroles and side dishes.
