Successful FAT for GAREX VCCS at the Air Traffic Control, the Netherlands (LVNL)
OSLO, Norway, Sept. 13, 2013 /PRNewswire-iReach/ -- Indra Navia completed a successful factory acceptance test (FAT) for LVNL's new GAREX Voice Communication and Control System (VCCS). The nationwide GAREX VCCS will be installed at the Area Control Center at Schiphol East and at Amsterdam Airport Schiphol, Rotterdam The Hague Airport, Groningen Airport Eelde, and Maastricht/Aachen Airport Beek. The system consists of 143 operational controller positions, in addition to a simulator and a test and development system.
"LVNL is very pleased with the successful completion of the Factory Acceptance Test (FAT), which demonstrated the readiness of the new voice communication system for on-site installation and preparation for our intended use," says Martin Beringer, Director of Procedures & Systems at LVNL. "The execution of this important milestone was exemplary for the way the Indra Navia and LVNL teams work together: in an open, respectful, professional and cooperative manner, committed to an optimized result."
With project completion scheduled for 2014, this VCCS is a part of the full voice communication system replacement program at five LVNL sites and their associated radio ground stations. Included in this digital end-to-end voice communication solution are Indra Navia's GAREX 220 switching systems and T6 air/ground radios supplied by Northrop Grumman Park Air Systems. When completed, the program will provide fully integrated air traffic control voice communications across the Netherlands.
"This milestone shows that we have the capability to manage and deliver the most advanced communication systems for air traffic management. Customers can rely on our unique knowledge to solve their challenges, no matter how complex they may be," says Eldar Hauge, President and CEO of Indra Navia.
