SunTrust CMO Susan Somersille Johnson Named Among Top 50 Most Powerful Women in Corporate America by Black Enterprise Magazine
ATLANTA, March 4, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Susan Somersille Johnson, corporate executive vice president and chief marketing officer of SunTrust Banks, Inc. (NYSE: STI), was named one of the Top 50 Most Powerful Women in Corporate America by Black Enterprise Magazine. Johnson will be honored at the Black Enterprise "Women of Power Conference" on March 4.
Honorees are female African-American C-Suite executives selected from the top 1,000 publicly traded US corporations. These executives manage significant lines of business or serve as a representative on the executive leadership team. Additionally, they contribute to the development of business, operational and financial policies and strategies of their companies.

She serves on the Board of Directors of Wise Individualized Student Experience (WISE) Services. Founded in 1972, WISE Services partners with high schools throughout the country to prepare students of all ability levels to succeed beyond high school by developing real world skills.
Prior to joining SunTrust in 2014, Johnson was vice president of Global Marketing for NCR Corporation. She previously served as global head of Customer Marketing for Nokia and also held leadership roles in a number of global technology organizations.
Johnson holds a bachelor's degree in Engineering Sciences from Harvard University and an MBA in Finance from The Wharton School.
