Super Bowl Fantasy Football Available For First Time on Rivalry Fantasy Sports

LOS ANGELES, Jan. 27, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Rivalry Games, maker of Rivalry Fantasy Sports, announced today that its mobile app will be the first to offer Super Bowl fantasy football. Available on iOS and Android devices, Rivalry Fantasy Sports will allow fans to compete for points or cash during Super Bowl XLIX. Beginning today, fans can select their six-man teams for game day.  

Launched in 2014, Rivalry Games is making fantasy football, basketball and baseball accessible for all sports fans. Unlike most fantasy leagues, which require extensive knowledge of the sport and a season long commitment to their team, Rivalry Fantasy Sports lets fans create and field fantasy teams one game at a time. Users can challenge Facebook friends or strangers in head-to-head duels, four-person matchups and tournaments with 10, 20, 50 or 100 players.

For every fantasy football game, including the Super Bowl, users can select a six-man team with one quarterback, running back, wide receiver, tight end, kicker and defensive player. Users can choose any player they wish – there is no draft or salary cap. Rivalry Fantasy Sports relies on a proprietary scoring system that rewards riskier picks. For example, in a matchup between Seattle TE Luke Willson and New England TE Rob Gronkowski, Willson would earn a 3x multiplier on his receiving yards. In other words, Gronkowski would earn one point per 10 yards while Willson would earn three.         

While users can play for free, entry for cash games ranges from $1 to $100. A credit card or PayPal account can be used to pay entry fees and receive cash rewards. Because all tournaments are capped at a maximum of 10 to 100 competitors, the odds of victory are much higher than in tournaments with tens of thousands of people. For new and experienced fantasy sports participants, the app is extremely easy to use. Anyone can create a team and enter a competition in less than 60 seconds.
