SuperFansCompete.com Tests Fans' Football Knowledge and Loyalty in Unique Weekly Competition
REDMOND, Ore., Sept. 15, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- SuperFansCompete.com is a new and exciting way for fans to express loyalty to their favorite team. Having gone live at the end of this year's NFL preseason, SuperFansCompete.com pits fan bases against each other in a challenging, first-of-its-kind trivia competition. Fans of every NFL team are encouraged to sign up for some friendly competition today at http://www.superfanscompete.com and to like the site on Facebook.
The most innovative aspect of SuperFansCompete.com is FootballRivia™, a new kind of game that combines the dynamic and fast action of football with trivia questions. Newcomers can begin playing for free in as little as a few minutes. After signing up and selecting a favorite NFL team, new members, or "TeamFans," can select "Play Now" to start their drive.
FootballRivia™'s format will be instantly familiar to pigskin fans. Players have 15 seconds to select one of several run or pass plays, from quick-hitting slant passes to quarterback sneaks. Another 15-second clock starts with the presentation of a football-related trivia question and four possible answers. Get the answer right, and the play will be successful; a wrong answer results in no gain, maybe a loss in yards or worse, a turnover. FootballRivia™ presents players with an interesting factoid after each question.
Each TeamFan base competes against the TeamFan base of another NFL team. The challenge of FootballRivia™ is to score points for the TeamFan base to achieve a higher scoring average for the week. The team with the highest average points per fan wins that week's contest and earns all associated bragging rights.
The schedule of SuperFansCompete.com mirrors the actual NFL calendar, with the year divided into preseason, regular season, post season and off season. During the regular season, each team will play 16 games. TeamFans typically have 4 to 7 days to rack up points for their respective teams. In the standard single-player format, TeamFans are always on offense. Turning the ball over ends the current drive and negates any yards gained, starting a new drive at 1st and 10 on the player's own 20-yard line.
Each week each TeamFan base will accumulate Wins and Losses in the team Standings. At the end of the regular season, teams with the best record will compete in the playoffs as Division and Wild Card Winners for the privilege of being crowned SuperFans Champion.
Each team has its own locker room where TeamFans can chat and see a list of the highest-scoring players. The site also hosts an open forum where everyone can engage in some trash talk or friendly banter.
While the essence of SuperFansCompete.com is pitting TeamFans against each other, individual achievements are also part of the system. All players start out as members of the practice squad. Accumulating yards and scoring points enables players to move up to the next level. Players can also earn achievement badges for passing, rushing and total points scored. Achievement levels include Rookie, Veteran, All-Pro and Hall of Fame.
As the NFL regular season progresses and participation on SuperFansCompete.com grows, the developers of the site plan to add some intriguing new features. Among these will be head-to-head FootballRivia™, which will allow fans to play against each other in real time.
