Survey Result Released on Key Trends and Top Technologies in HPHT Operations
LONDON, September 20, 2012 /PRNewswire/ --
As conventional reserves dwindle worldwide, the development of high-pressure, high-temperate (HPHT) wells has come as an almost inevitable consequence of the oil industry's need to find new reserves.
With this in mind, Oil and Gas iQ recently carried out a survey among over 100 HPHT specialists in order to identify and capture the current trends and challenges in HPHT technologies and operations.
The survey reveals that cement, seals and staff are the top 3 most significant technology gaps in HPHT operations. Other key findings include: a) 28% of the respondents believe that Asia Pacific will see the greatest amount of HPHT activities; b) 18% of the respondents consider that the lack of training and experienced staff are the most pressing issues in developing HPHT ventures.
