
Susan Sherer Selected as CEO for The Heat and Warmth Fund
Former Super Bowl XL Host Committee Executive Director to Lead Statewide Nonprofit for Energy Efficiency and Emergency Assistance
DETROIT, March 15 /PRNewswire/ -- The Heat and Warmth Fund (THAW) today announced that Susan Sherer has been named CEO of the nonprofit organization. In her new role, Sherer will oversee all of THAW's energy education, assistance and advocacy efforts throughout Michigan. The announcement was made by THAW Board Chair, Dianne Bostic Robinson.
"Susan brings tremendous vision, experience and relationships to THAW and she will be a strong leader for our organization," said Robinson. "We have found a proven leader to guide THAW in the fulfillment of its mission at a time where the need for THAW's services has never been greater."
Sherer is best known in Michigan and throughout the United States as the executive director of the Detroit Super Bowl XL Host Committee, which was the official local liaison for the National Football League's Super Bowl XL game in 2006. She is currently the founder and CEO of ShererInc, which supports organizations with strategic planning, funding solutions, board management, stakeholder engagement, systems planning, management and execution. Prior to the Super Bowl, Sherer served as a tourism and economic development officer for the Detroit Metro Convention and Visitors Bureau and held leadership positions in the hotel and hospitality industry, including national sales manager for the Westin Hotel Renaissance Center in Detroit.
